Dual Channel vs Single Channel in games?

I'm thinking about upgrading to a mobo that suppports dual channel. I know it gives a large benefit in terms of memory bandwidth for intel systems, but does that translate into a big effect for intensive applications like games? Is it worth it?

I've been running DC for so long I don't even remember what it's like not to have it. But yeah, all the big games run like a bat outta hell on my box.

I'd say since your already at 512Mb ram at PC3200, you would be disappointed in the performance difference of adding another 512Mb for DC. Sure you might get 5% more memory performance and the xtra 512Mb would be good with the latest games...but, not huge performance difference in games like going from an ATI 9200 to a 9700 or from a 9700 to the latest....or from 256Mb to 512Mb ram. You have a nicely balanced system now from what I seen in your My Rig link. If memory was half priced what it is now, I'd say go for it. If you do go for DC, let us know what your observations are. You post a good question. Thanks.
