Dual channel RAM question

I have four slots for RAM on my motherboard. If I get two sets of these:
4GB (2x2GB) Corsair XMS3 DDR3 PC1333 8-8-8-24 Memory

Would this give me better performance than 2x4GB sticks? with the same latency and so on.

So, would 4x2GB give me better performance than 2x4GB?

The actual real world difference between minor variations in RAM setups is pretty negligible.

If you motherboard is dual channel the. 4g x 2 is equal to 2g x 4 assuming the modules are equal in speed. If you have a quad channel motherboard then the 2g x 4 would be faster. Most quad channel boards have 8 slots so I suspect you have dual channel.
