Dual Channel Ram question

I have a msi pt 880 motherboard that i used to run dual channel with, but all of a sudden that no longer works.

I used to run my ram in the 1-3 position and that worked fine till the problem occurred. 1-3 no longer works, 2-4 used too but doesn't work either now. I had to run it at the 1-2 position in single channel mode in order to get it to work. Any recommendations on how to get it to work?

The BIOS is your friend. 🙂

Indeed. I'm betting you updated it or knocked the battery out during a recent upgrade, the first might not wipe your settings, but the second sure will.

Another possibility is overclocking...for example, my EE proc has a ceiling of 3.6G, but if I go over 3.2G the dual-channel is lost. I've heard this to be an issue elsewhere as well.

Ah, i had been running my cpu oced from 2.4 to 3.1 for a very long time while i had dual channel. The cpu wont even go to windows if i try to put it in dual channel mode 🙁
