I've noticed that almost all of the twin sticks of RAM are marketed for dual channel systems. But if I don't have a dual channel system, will they just work like two individual sticks of RAM? Are there really anything special about RAM optimized for dual channel? Thanks for the help.

They will work just like two individual sticks of RAM.

There is nothing special, no extra circuitry, no additional functionality or anything over regular RAM as compared to "Dual Channel" RAM. RAM marketed in twin packs are supposedly tested and validated to operate together as a pair without issues.

Hey Andy, so PCIe is PCI Express? I always did it PCI-E. Is that wrong?

Although I prefer PCI-E, PCIe is the official abbreviation.

Actually, I put PCI-Ex but who knows, LOL. Just don't put PCI-X;)

Edit: AndyHui: Thanks for the answer! I usually put PCI-Ex or PCI-ex but now I will put PCI-E. Well, maybe PCI-Ex or PCI-ex but I will see how it goes.
