Dual channel problems

I have the following hardware:

Athlon XP-M 2400+ 35W running at 9.5x200 and 1.35 V
Biostar M7NCG 400 NForce2 motherboard
Kinstom Value RAM PC3200 (2x256 MB chips)
MSI 9800 Pro video card
Antec 300W PSU (proprietary PSU that is part of the Aria case)

I have been having pretty constant lockups and reboots. After much effort I finally fingured out that my computer didn't like running memory in dual channel mode. My computer runs fine when the sticks are in single channel mode but freaks out otherwise. To test the memory I swapped it out with another pair of sticks (Adata PC3200, 2x 512 MB). They did the same thing. I have tried changing which stick goes in which slot with no luck.

I am assuming that it's a motherboard issue at this point, although I am not sure if this means that my motherbaord is defective or that the Biostar M7NCG motherboard is picky about the RAM that I put in it.

I have been running the RAM at 200 MHz (synchronous with the CPU FSB). I have tried vDIMM settings from 2.5 to 2.8 Volts with no change in behavior.

Any suggestions about what else I could try to solve this problem? I am reluctant to RMA the motherboard unless I am sure that it is defective.

EDIT: fixed typo.

Definitely set up timings and voltage manually, and use conservative settings with a TRAS between 9-11, and get the latest bios if you don't have it. I have used Apacer, Corsair VS, and Crucial in dual channel on various nF2 boards, often with the IGP chipset, and even overclocked have had zero issues, and I always set everything up manually.

I set the timings using SPD, but I can try relaxing them further. If this works I guess that I need to buy better memory.
