I have assembled my computer, but apparently the Corsair ValueRam 2x512MB (model VS1GBKIT400) can't use Dual Channel Memory with 2 sticks.

What do I do? Should I buy another set of 2x512 or? I will have to pay the shipping once again...

Damn, I had no idea certain RAM's couldn't use DC memory...it seems for this particular Corsair model, you have to have 4 sticks to use it.

In the manual (I RTFM ;)), there's a list of RAM vendors/models and alternatives:

A = 1 stick single configuration.
B = 2 stick dual channel
C = 4 stick dual channel

There's 2 types of RAM in the list with blank at type B. One of them is the one's I got...

I don't know whether that means it doesn't work or they just haven't tested it yet. On the same list on the website (which is updated), it says "V" on A, B and C.

So with that information, does it or does it not work?

EDIT: Mobo is Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe. My comp isn't up and running yet, still tweaking and getting things right. I can't find the power fan cord...

hmm..i assume their are 4 banks on that mobo, so try (in order from CPU socket to edge of pcb) put the RAM in slots 1 and 3.
