I currently have a Asus P4P800 Deluxe MoBo. I am running 2X 512MB sticks of Kingston Hyper-X PC3500 DDR unbuffered, non-ECC memory in a dual channel config.
I would like to add 2 more sticks of 1GB memory in a dual channel mode to make the total memory 3GB. My MoBo has 4 slots and capable of 4GB memory total.
My question is with the timings. Since the different modules will have different latencies etc. most likely, what settings should I use? The ones from the 2X1GB or 2X512MB sticks?
Would I be better off going with identical memory (2X512MB Hyper-X) and be satisfied with 2GB total? Any suggestions here as to a dual channel memory pair that would serve me well with my existing memory?
