Dual Channel memory and Seti.

Im going to be reassembling my rigs in a day or two with new parts coming in, and I was wondering if running dual channel memory in the 8rda+ will yield any performance gains in the WU times. I guess I can find out for myself soon enough 🙂.


Making the decision of


2100+ @ 2.1ghz + 256MB XMS3200
and
2500+ @ ???ghz + 256MB XMS3200

or

2100+ @ 2.1ghz + 256MB Crucial 2.5-3-3-6 @ 150mhz
and
2500+ @ ????ghz + 2x256MB XMS3200 (8rda+ system)

I believe that Assimilator1 noted the differences between single channel and dual channel memory on an nForce2 board was about 5 minutes.

Well I guess I have some testing ahead of me then 🙂

If using dual channel gives a 5 min increase, it would only be worth doing if going from the 150 to 200mhz speed on the first machine yielded less than a 5 min increase.

Yep thats right! ,went from about 2hrs 32mins to 2hrs 27mins
