Dual Channel Memeory

I am currently running 2 sticks of Infineon 128 mb DDR 400 in the dual channel slots (pentium 4 2.2). I am going to get 2 sticks of 512 as a little upgradeand run those in the dual channel slots. Can i still use the other 2 sticks of 128 in the remaining slots? Is it worth doing that?

Thanks
Bob

Prob better with the 2x512. Having all 4 slots filled prevents you from having tighter timings.

If they're all ddr400, the speed won't lack. (although some MoBo's don't allow you to go higher than 333mhz with all slots filled) Like you said, timings will go up. If you had timings around 2325, they'd probably only get 3337. If you don't game, your plan is OK. If you do, I'd consider an upgrade sometime soon including a discounted s939 build or c2d.

Its not really a gaming computer, but tends to get bogged dwon quite easily. I guess i could even ditch the 256 already in there and just run with the new sticks of 1Gig. That would probably be a big improvement anyway.
