dual channel - do you need the same timings on memory ?

at the moment, i have a 512 stick of pc2700 in my comp. do i need to find out what the timings are and get the same exact memory if i want to run dual channel or will any stick of 512 meg pc2700 ram work ?

yes, with dual channel you need to have the memory running at the same timings.
