Dual Channel DDR4 question

I just bought a laptop that came with a single stick of 8gb Samsung ddr4 pc4-17000 ram. I know that dual channel offers a huge improvement over single channel and have three options to do so, looking for advice on which would be the best way to upgrade.

$32 option - Kingston 8gb DDR4 PC4-17000 stick or another generic spec matched stick

$40 option - Exact match of the Samsung stick in the system.

$67 option - 16GB (8x2) PC4-19000 DDR4 kit

Will all of these options be roughly equal performance wise, or does dual channel really require matched kits?

I'm not a fan of ddr4-2133 ram at all, so I'd go with a set of faster DDR4 sticks, and sell the Samsung stick.

Provided that the "faster" DDR4 is actually faster, which can depend on the CAS number.

The Kingston stick should be fine just to get you into DC mode with 16gb of ram.

What model laptop is it? What cpu? That may make a difference.
