Dual Channel DDR

Hey I dont have too much experience with this dual channel DDR memory...do you have to buy dual channel ddr memory sticks? Or do regulard DDR sticks work ok? And dropping one stick in will suffice, or do you have to install it in pairs?

Dual channel will work if you have two sticks./ It will not work with only one stick.
You can get guaranteed good results if you get a tested pair. But, you will be paying extra for that.
You can get two sticks of the same brand and model and speed and timing and you should be OK.

From what I read the boost in performance is minimal, ~3% boost at the most

The boost in performance is quite significant for Pentium 4. However, for Athlon XP dual channel performance is very close to single channel (up to 5% difference).
