Is there any way you can tell forsure that your mb is running in dual channel mode? I have an epox 8dra+ and 2 sticks of 256mg 2100 Crucial DDR Memory and im just curious if its running in ddr because im overclocking. I heard that if you overclock the dual channel ddr is shut off.

thanks

Cool, I could use those also.

Not to steal the thread, but what happens when you run 4 sticks?

You'll probably have screwed up the motherboard then, cause there's only 3 memory slots.😉

When you turn on the system, the POST screen that gives the RAM count, and shows the IDE devices will say in bold white Dual Channel DDR Enabled. If it doesn't say that, then DC is not enabled. And yeah, might as well update the BIOS too. There's one out just this month.
One stick of RAM must be in slot 1 or 2, and the other must be in slot 3 for DC to work.

Here's a real newbie question: What happens to the amount of RAM when you plug sticks to slots 1&3, activating the DC feature; Does it double the amount of RAM as thought logically, or is it just the same amount as with one stick but with a wider channel?

This is really starting to confuse me... 😕

I believe that the 865PE and 875PE boards have 4 memory slots so he might have one of those boards and not an nForce2 board.
