All should know that the Rambus are slower than DDR in timings, although they are faster due to your higher Bandwidth, I thought about a chipset dual channel for P4 like nvidia nforce but that was able to get the extra channel ddr unlike the athlon. Imagine 4,2 gb/s (DDR) actually 2,7 gb/s DDR333 can outperform 3,2 gb/s Rambus. Can You also imagine in the future the new Intel Pentium 4 Nortwood 512 cache L2, 133Mhz FSB x 4 = 532 x 8bytes= 4,2 Gb/s. Then I read " DDR dual channel to P4...." - Uau! i can't believe that, at end" Unhappily was treated just for servers Xeon processors.

PS: Sorry my english, Iam braziliam

Because Intel is getting jiggy with Rambust and the lawyers... ermmm technical side of Rambust suggests that DDR would not be good for P4

iirc intel cannot release a mobo with more than 1.05gb/sec (i.e pc133) of memory bandwidth which is non rambus powered until 2002. Hence why in about 1-2 months time there will be loads of i845ddr mobo's released. Also I have seen reports of dual channel ddr chipsets at the comdex show which i think were headed for servers.

well nVidia already has a chip in the X-box that works with P3s, is that duel channel.
nVidia might be coming out with a dual channel DDR sometime in the future.

The xbox uses 200mhz ddr memory (400 efective) but it uses a 128 bit bus and not 2 x 64. Although the lightspeed memory architecture cna break this down to 4 x 32 bit channels iirc
