Dual Channel and proper Memory config.

If I have a system capable of runnng memory in dual channel mode...

And I already have a 512 stick in it. Can I add another 512 rated at a higher speed and it will work in dual channel mode?

. or does it have to be matched pairs of the same manufacturer, memory density, memory size, and speed rating????

It will work in dual-channel mode, and the new memory will just run at the speed of the lower memory. There is a small chance of compatibility issues between the mainboard and the two module types, but more than likely you'll have no problems. At worst, you might end up having to manually set the speeds in the BIOS setup.
