Dual Cards, different interface for dual dvi

Ok, currently I have a ATi AIW X800 XT.
It has a DVI and an AGP for dual monitor support.
Well, I want dual DVI but not looking to replace my card.
Can I get a cheapy PCI card, like this one, and run the X800 to my monitor and the PCI to my HDTV?
Or am I just looking for a driver nightmare?

Are you running XP or Vista?

Personally, I would try to get a card that is a little closer to your x800's generation so you don't get screwed when a driver update stops supporting the PCI card. Those two cards already wouldn't work together in Vista without significant drawbacks(no Aero). If you look around a bit harder, you should be able to find a PCI X300 pretty cheap.

You can probably get by on XP in that case, though I'd still try to at least get a card that is still supported by current version of the Cats. Pre-Dx9 radeons are only supported by the 6.11 Cats or earlier. You can usually mix display drivers on XP fine, but you might run into issues with multiple displays if one is a LCD TV.

Unfortunately, the cheapest Dx9 PCI Radeon at newegg is the X1550 for ~$95. 🙁

I'd look around for a used X300 or X1300 series card.

?....surely you mean DVI and VGA?.....if so, just get a VGA to DVI adapter?
