I have a user that I installed Windows XP pro for him. He was having trouble with his pc and without consulting me first he went and tried to install Windows XP home edition over it.

Now when it boots up it gives him two selection to either select XP pro and the select Home XP install.
Usually in windows 98 you can remove it in the auto.bat file to boot up with only one operating system. I thought you would do that in the boot.ini file for windows xp. But I was wrong i think.

He never finished installing XP home though and that was one of the problem also. So my question is where can I go into to delete the path that tells it to do both operating system. I just want Windows XP pro to automaticlly boot up and not to have a selection.

Thanks for any suggestion

Right Click on My Computer. Select Properties, Advanced, Startup & Recovery. Select the O/S you want to boot and uncheck the Display List of O/S... box.

I forgot, ignore the smartass, useless posts that proceed this one. :D
