DUAL BOOTING Win98 & WinXP:
😕 Format harddisk to 2 FAT32 partitions (eg. 20GB HD split 16GB & 4GB). Install Win98SE to 'D:\Windows' on the second (4GB) partition. Stick in the WinXP CD, chose 'Advanced' Fresh Install and specify 'C:\Windows' (16GB). It will install and give the option to dual boot. Just edit C:\BOOT.INI and alter 'Windows' to 'Windows 98SE', just to avoid confusion.
😛 IT WORKS! Just rem, if you want to use sw in both OS's, install it in both OS's. You should be fine to install all sw to 'C:\Program Files\xxx' to save duplicating files and wasting disk space. Only exceptions would be when sw wants to use seperate NT & 9x files or if you use NTFS for WinXP, then just install sw on both C: & D:.
😎 If you want Win98 & WinXP to coexist; do install them on seperate partitions, do use fresh installs, don't bother trying anything else (like I did), it just isn't worth it!
Hope this helps the guys out there who want full compatability. 😉
