i remember a while back when one would try to dual boot suse or redhat or anything else with windows xp, it wouldnt work. it had to do with the kernel or something?

has this been resolve? I'm looking to dual boot my laptop with suse 9.2

I've got Suse 9.2 pro on my Thinkpad T40 dual booting with XP Pro.
Everything worked right out of the box.

Any linux will be able to dual boot with WinXP without a problem. You just need to make sure your bootloader is setup correctly.

I'm havig problems with setting up the bootloader. Can I take a peak at what your GRUB file looks like?
I can no longer boot into windows.

I have a related question that I have not been able to divine through google. Will I have any trouble shrinking my NTFS partition during the install of SUSE 9.2?

Some background on my situation : I am trying setup a dual boot into SUSE 9.2 and Windows XP on my Inspiron 600m, without doing anything to the 30 gigs of stuff I already have on the drive (60GB HD). I am a complete linux newbie, and I am doing this to learn linux.
