Dual booting (from 2 HDDs) and blocking a harddrive in XP

Background: I have two hard drives. I am planning on having my WD Raptor 36gb house my XP install (currently already on there) and all of my games on it. My Seagate 7200 RPM drive (far more sizable) will have Vista on it and I will only use it for business applications, programming, computer algebra, general web use, music, video, etc.

Problem:
1. Motherboard lacks an easy way to switch between boot drives during the post (have to manually go into the bios and change the boot drive on my Gigabyte K8NS-Ultra 939). Say I set it to boot off of the seagate (and thus the vista drive) by default, anyway to configure the bootloader to allow me to abort booting from the Seagate and just execute the MBR on the Raptor?

2. Anyway to block access to the seagate drive while using XP on the raptor? I do not want anything to read / write to the seagate while I am using XP on the raptor. (Although I do wish to be able to access the raptor XP drive from the Seagate Vista drive, but this will not be a problem).

Thanks

/bonks himself on the head, why did I not think of that?

That would be the easiest solution since it could not be enabled by a limited user account. Shame BitLocker is not supported in Vista business 🙁
