Dual booting 98se & 2k...

Okay, I want to load 2k...I have 98 installed right now, but I assume I'm going to have to repartition to run 2k, right? From what I understand after installing both (98 then 2k) I'll have a boot screen to choose which to boot into, correct? Is there a way to make it default to one OS, and only show the boot screen if I press a certain key (ie F8)?

All my hardware is compatible...
My hard drive is only 10gigs 🙂
I may go to 2k soley, but I'd like to do this first to be sure everything is working correctly 😛

Any tips/hints/clues? 😉

Yes there is a setting in the system section of the control panel that will let you choose defalt OS and a check box to let you display the boot menu. I don't know how to change os if you choose not to display the menu. It allows time setting to display menu. I changed it from the defalt of 30 seconds to 10 seconds. I have 10 seconds to choose OS or it will boot 2000 automaticly.

I have my 98 on a 1.5 gig partition. Although I have the swap on another drive. It was a clean install and I have very few applications on 98 I pretty much just use it for compatibility reasons. ie firmware updates

If you have partition magic or similar you can partition non destructively. Shrink your drive down and create new partition with leftover space. Install W2K and enjoy life.😉
