Dual boot with win98&mandrake 7.1

as you may know from my othet thread i am downloading mandrake 7.1, how do i set it up to dual boot with my current win98 install?????????? step by step would be nice :) thanks!!!! alot!!!!!

Must make sure you have another partition or hard drive. Just install and follow the easy directions.

can linux handle big partitions? i set aside a 13GB partition for it, its fat32? will that work?

Yes, the current version of Linux-Mandrake 7.1 does support large hard drives.

No, you cannot use fat32 for Linux. The file system linux uses is extf2.

A third party utility like Partition Magic will help you setup up the correct partitions.

Linux can handle large partitions, but be aware that there MIGHT still be some restrictions of where LILO is installed. It used to be that it had to be within the first 1024 cylinders. Not sure if that's gone now or not..

Linux uses EXT2 partitions and you can create these during the installation of Linux-Mandrake through their nice GUI..Regards
