Hey all...I have Win98se on C:, and win2kpro on D....I have a new HD, so I would to do the following...

Take C and make it D, no longer need access to Win98..do I delete the Win98 directory from within Wink2 first?

D is going into another system, and is going to be a backup drive, so I will erase the Win2k stuff after I move it over...I need some of the data on that drive...

sorry, I ended up screwing it up, but here goes the problem in case anyone else has the same issue...

I had Win98 on C, and Win2k on D...I got a new HD, and wanted to get rid of 98 altogether, so I took C out, changed D to a master setting, and the new, blank, HD to slave....

I got an NTLDR (or something like that) missing message on my first boot try, so I ran the bootfix program from the Win2k repair program...but no luck...so I just ended up re-intalling 2k altogether.....

Is there any way I could have avoided that?

The only think you *may* have been able to do was to repair the Win2K install from the CD *after* you put in the new drive. But, you registry likely had settings for "D:\ ...", all of which would have to been changed to "C:\ ..." No *Windows* OS really likes that kind of drastic change.
