Dual Boot Win2k/98* Problem With Boot Loader. HELP!

Hi, i have had this reoccuring problem with my dual boot setup and CANNOT fix it. I install a fresh copy of Win98SE. All is grand. Throw in my new drivers, applications, etc. I then install Win2k, fresh install, on the D: partition. I update some drivers in there, install some apps, all is grand. The next time i go into Win98 an use some apps or whatnot, Win2k WILL not load again. Instead, my Ntoskrnl file becomes corrupted and i must replace it back into Winnt/System32.

After replacing the above file, win2k works fine. The second i go into Win98, then back into Win2k, problem reoccurs. Is there something being written to the Boot.ini file or something? Whats the problem and how can this be fixed? Thanks

How does Win2K not load?

I don't know enough, but it could be as easy as removing BIOS virus protection..

Dont know a fix for that. But you could use a boot disk as a work around. Boot Win98 normally and use the boot disk to boot into Win2000. Assuming its those files that are getting messed with. Hmmm???

After reading your problem again, not sure this will work, unless its some kind of chain corruption.

Have you tried Win2k service pack 1 yet?
