Dual Boot Win 7 Outlook PST Question

I have 2 Hard drives on this machine, each boots to a different .pst file. I want to be able to point to the same .pst file from both boots. Is this possible and can I expect any issues...?

Concept would be to work Outlook emails on one boot and then go to the other boot of Win 7 and be able to seamlessly pick up where I left off shuffling emails in the other Win 7 boot... Can that work?

not worth it, outlook does support moving of PST files but it is PITA. As soon as you change the folder of PST file, some things break.

It is doable but you have to make sure that you are using the same version of outlook on both boots, as there is differences between 2007,2010,and 2013

I had it setup like this, I had a dual boot between Win7 and Win8 before fully moving over to 8

I put a copy of the pst in a common folder accessible by both.

Then I manually created the email account and told it to specify a specific .pst file which I select the common pst.

pop3 or imap?

If I remember correctly, the info about a pop3 account of which emails you have downloaded is kept in the registry, not within the .pst file. I suppose if you delete all emails off the server immediately after downloading them, that should work no problem. Otherwise you would get a lot of emails duplicated.

Just create a folder at the root of c: !

C:\MY PST FILES\mypst.pst

No need to have the pst so far deep down in the folder tree anyway.
