Dual boot question........not 98 and 2000 how to

I have linux mandrake 7.2 and I am thinking about dual booting that with 2000. Right now its 98 and 2000 (i know i said not 98 and 2000) and what I want to know is how do I remove 98 and install linux without loosing 2000 in all the comotion. As for how to dual boot 2000 and linux thats no prob I just don't want to loose everything on the 2000 partitions and start from scratch. Thanks a bunch! 😀
