Dual Boot Home XP and Vista 64

I am going to build a new machine pretty soon and I would like to install a dual boot system with XP and Vista 64. I know to install XP first then Vista. Does a dual boot system degrade either OS? Would both OS's "act" the same?
 
Well, they should act the same. Although I suggest you disable system restore in XP, theres a slight chance it might create some issues and also it adds up unnecessary space.
