ok, so i am a newbie here. i just built my first computer (http://secure.newegg.com/app/WishR.asp?ID=248485) and want to be able to boot in both win2k and winxp but on different hard drives. is there anybody willing to walk me (and maybe others with same problem) the dual boot process? right now i'm simply running win2k on my master HD (80gig maxtor). i want winxp (obviously i have a copy ready to install) to boot on my other (slave) 40gig ibm HD.

anyone that could help walk me through this - PLEASE DO!

thanks a million... e-mail or post (for other users) when you get a chance.

You know thery are pretty much the same OS right?

Anyway, what you need to do is boot (or make boot disks) from the Win2k cd, install in on the primary master drive. Once ou have configured that, boot from the WinXP cd and install that on the Slave drive. Windows (NTLDR - the Windows boot loader) will configure the dual boot process on its own. Pretty simple really.

Ps, don't worry about being a newbie here, everyone was and is once 😀. If you get anymore problems, post back.
