Given my experiences with Android x86, I'm curious how much stuff from the app store will actually run on it. Decent price though, I'll probably pick one up to replace my dead X2. Pity the keyboard doesn't have a second battery in it and is only available from a 3rd party vendor right now. I'd spend the extra $80 for the 10 in a heartbeat. 2Gb of RAM is a deal breaker these days IMO.

There's several phones that run Atom processors which are x86. I had one, I never ran into an app that didn't run. That said, it was a horrible phone and I wouldn't buy another one from Asus.

A post about dual boot is an OS matter. So moved.

The second unit isn't bad at all. 4gb ram and a 64gb emmc drive is pretty good at that price point not to mention dual boot. The kb and stylus pen are extra but even then the price is still below most mainstream tablets.

Initial impressions of the Hi10 Pro are about as expected. Doesn't feel as solid as most other tablets I've used, but it was a fraction of the price. Wireless performance is abysmal as noted in several reviews. It's about 1/5th the speed of the Dell Latitude E5450 sitting next to it. It's installing updates right now so I'll reserve judgement about the rest of that performance until that's done.

Also, corky, this is about a device that happens to be dual boot, not about dual booting itself. Wouldn't it make more sense to move this back to it's original location?

Updating Windows took the better part of the afternoon. CPU bounces around 3%-10% with nothing running.

Android as expected runs quite a bit smoother.

The keyboard dock sucks balls. It's seriously terribad. I prefer the dock style keyboards vs bluetooth normally but this keyboard is just horrible. Especially considering the price.

Once all the updates were done installing, it runs acceptably fast all things considered. Works great for it's intended use as an OBD2/tuning tool as the car.
