I want to run a flight sim on windows 98 se but I want all other stuff on XP pro Is it possible to dual boot or is there a way to get a non xp sim to run on XP . I am talking about ASA on top an IFR flight sim not really a game which states is incompatible with XP or even NT. thanks Chas

Here's what I have on one drive: C:=98SE, 1gig; D:=xp, 3 gig; E:=programs, ?gig, etc.

Install 98SE first and set it up the way you want. Then boot with the XP cd and it will let you install on D:

XP will set up a Boot.ini which will give you the option of loading C: or D: at boot. Works great.

Can you make it simpler I have 98 se installed now Do i need to partition the drive or could you give me step by step how to I appreciate your help greatly . sorry never done it before Chas

The easiest way is to add a second hard drive, boot from the XP cd and install it to the new drive. It will create a boot.ini which will let you choose the OS you want to use at startup. If you only have 1 drive, it could be a little more complicated unless you have it partitioned. The simple answer is yes, you will need to partition the drive or install another one.

BTW, I have a dual boot 98se and XPpro setup with 2 drives. 1 for 98 and the other for XP.
