Dual boards for 1GHz CuMine P3?

I can't find anything on the top of my head other than the supermicro and the abit vp6?...any intel based ones? what's wrong with serverworks chipsets anyway? are they incompatible with everything?

First ok. You need to distinguish the difference between Motherboard Manufacuters and the Chipset Companies. VIA, Intel, and Serverworks makes Dual chipsets. The Supermicro,Abit and the rest make the Motherboards.

Intel doesn't make a Dual Socket 370 chipset.(i840 socket 370 was limited to Tyan and Supermicro) Acorp i815D chipset and board was done by Acorp but i guess intel isn't promoting it as much as Acorp. The board is very limited. 512MB MAX memory. SDRAM only, no DDR support.

Next, Serverworks chipsets.HE-SL, LE chipsets aren't mean't for the desktop. Hence the name is Serverworks and not Desktopworks. You can "buy" it but then again the price/performance ratio isn't a fair if you want to use it in the home for cat and mouse play. (Games, Heavy rendering, Divx encoding.) Its not that they are incompatiable, they aren't widely use by end users.
The perfromance is poor compared to its competition for desktop work. But as far as server environment, its your best bet.
Next you have VIA and the ap133a and Pro266 chipsets. IwiLL and Rioworks and SM have boards based on these Pro266 dual chipsets. The apollo133a dual boards can be found by MSI,Abit,Tyan,Rioworks,Epox,ECS,PcChips,SM,and various other groups of manufacs.

Ahhhh... there they are...thanks! Well I know the difference between those who make the boards and those who make the chipsets... i just wanted to know why people don't seem to recommend the Supermicro boards. I was just at 2cpu.com and well... most of those boards are made by VIA... hmmm... well i'll go look for some more... thanks again! Any idea where I could find a Thunder i840? 😀
