Basically I'm looking for a dual athlon XP motherboard that'll support Mobile XP2500's.... for a quiet, fast and robust rig.

Thanks :D

abit, tyan, asus all make good amd 760mpx motherboards
but most would consider the chipset to be outdated when compared to the current xeon and athlon64 offerings. The price/performance ratio might not even be as good as buying two independent athlon systems in some cases.

i personally would get the abit board for an ethusiast setup with hopes of overclocking
and maybe the tyan board for a server or workstation environment
the asus board is high quality but i havn't heard much about it (think it's not as good as the abit but still better than most other boards like msi and gigabyte or whoever)

good luck

i would only go this route if i already owned some/all of the memory and/or one of the cpu's and/or other components to make the buy worth it.

hmmmmm alrighty.
I just find myself doing a few things at the same time, such as extracting files from a large .rar archive, while attempting to chat (using a sluggh web-based java program) and do very light photochopping at the same time.
I remember when I had my dual 366's @ 550 on a BP6 how robust and capable that rig was, hence why I wanted to reproduce that.

Maybe just getting a Mobile XP2500 and clocking it to 2.3ghz, 1gb of ram and increased HD speed will let me do that?
