hi all,

did they ever make motherboards that supported dual athlons (slot A)?
if so, can someone give me the manufacturers' names?

the reason i ask is because i have an athlon (slot A) PC as a secondary computer and sometimes it seems like it needs more CPU power. i've wanted to try SMP for a while so this will be a good opportunity provided i can find a motherboard... CPU's are a plenty.

thanks

Nope. Athlon MP is a derivative of Athlon XP, and that in turn is 2nd generation _socket_ A. Slot A was long gone when the required stuff (760MP chipset, MP capable CPU core) evolved.

New socket A mainboard and a 2-GHz-ish processor totals about $100, so why bother?
