Holy Crap!
My sys:
Dual 700E's (Retail CB0)
256MB Mushkin High Perf
MSI 694D PRO
IBM 30GB 75GXP
Guillemot Geforce II MX

OK well I did some tests...
CPU "A"
Can POST at 933MHz but locks up during Windows 2000 Boot
Runs fine in windows 2000 @ 868MHz

CPU "B"
Does not POST at anything above 700 MHz (Tried 840MHz and above)

Both chips will not POST AT ALL when they are given more voltage. Even if I give CPU "A" 0.05 more volts, at 868MHz (which works at normal voltage) it will not POST. So obviously when I couldn't get CPU A to boot all the way into win2k I gave it more volts but it didn't post.

Hmmm what to do?
Both Chips are right now running at 24 Degrees Celcius (75 deg F), with stock retail HSF and Silver Conductive Thermal Grease.

You guys don't seem to understand--- The chips are WAY COOL at 24 degrees celcius-- AND I cannot apply ANY more than default voltage to any of the CPU's or it WILL NOT post!!

Very simple.

Your chips are not running at 24C. The MSI Dual p3 board uses thermistor's underneath the socket, which can be anywhere from 10C to 15C under what cpu core temp could be. I am not going to get into the specifics, but this solution is simply not accurate.

Have you tried a single cpu ? Can you get either cpu in single cpu mode to run above the rated speed?

Have you updated hte MB bios?

I tried one cpu at a time with the results:
CPU "A"
Can POST at 933MHz but locks up during Windows 2000 Boot
Runs fine in windows 2000 @ 868MHz

CPU "B"
Does not POST at anything above 700 MHz (Tried 840MHz and above)

When they are both together I can't post at anything above 700 MHz.
If I can't even post at 800+ MHz with standard cooling and some silver grease then it is not worth it to use liquid nitrogen ;)

You could have gotten dud 700E's... Albeit i have not heard of a cb0 700e not capable of at least 800.

I dont think that a p3 700 can run at 24c with stock heatsinc and fan. Get alphas or golden orbs and those chips wil probably clock.

It was a BIOS problem! I threw in version 1.5 of the Award BIOS and BAM, so far 933Mhz each with stock heat sink and fan--I will go farther once I get some Gorbs.

Good deal, glad you figured it out. Hope others read this and remember.

I unfortunately can't reach 133 mhz, and HAVE the latest bios. Just one of them things.
