I'm building a new rig for a buddy and he will NOT be gaming whatsoever on this computer. This is strictly for poker and internet usage.

So with that said, there should be zero problems here, correct?

TIA.

Two 30" LCDs ! :Q.

The 30" LCDs need a "Dual-link" DVI connection to work. Make sure that BOTH of the DVI ports on the video card are "dual-link". Sometimes on the cheaper video cards only one of the DVI ports is dual-link, and the other is single-link. Not sure what they are doing with the newer low end cards.

As long as he doesn't do anything 3D, he should be fine if his 9500gt has two dual link DVI

Why do I think I saw this thread over at Legit Reviews as well lol.

But yea, if it's just online poker, he'll be fine.

If this is going to be on Vista, he will need a 512MB+ card to use Aero with two 30-inchers at native resolution.

No clue, but it's not me. I seriously only come here and WSGF for computer questions.

C'est la vie.

And yes, it will be Vista 64-bit (need access to more RAM), but I don't think he'll be using Aero.

Noted though on the 512-MB card.

Quick question then fellas...how do you find out exactly if both DVI plugs on the video card are both Dual link?

Thanks as always!

And basically what I'm asking is what is the 'lowest end' (since he's not gaming whatsoever) video card that has dual-link DVI (2) ports on it? You guys rock, as always.

And for masteryoda34, fwiw, the rig I am typing on I built and I have the XHD3000 (Gateway 30") and dual 20" 2007's for my poker playing/gaming.

When it's your livelyhood, it's notsomuch overkill ;)
