Dual 1800xp question

I was just wondering would it be better for me to use my single 1800xp @ 2200 or go for a dual 1800xp for video editing. Would it be worth the cost since I all ready have a spare 1800xp that can also do 2200. I have seen the motherboards go for about $150-$200. I was looking to get either the Asus or MSI dual motherboard and mod my CPUs to MP. Since right now I am running 200fsb but if I go dual i'll probably run it at 133 with a high multiplier. Since I just got a new MiniDV camera and was wondering what would be the best situation for me.
 
The only benefit you would get from a dual proc. setup would be the ability to work on two video files at once. Although, with a dualie, you would be able to let one proc. do the video, while you use the other for everything else (you know, e-mail, posting on anandtech, maybe gaming, etc.).
 
Thanks for the reply. Is there any video editing programs that will make use of both CPUs? Or am I better off purchasing a faster CPU, such as an Intel since I heard they are better for video editing?
 
I personally would get a P4C for video editing/encoding, but as long as you don't mind it taking a bit longer, any cpu at all would get the job done. It would cost you at least $400 to switch to a P4-based system, utilizing most of the components you already have. How much is an hour or two (or three) worth to you?😀 Most people do it overnight, so it doesn't make any difference how long it takes, for what it's worth to you.

edit: I never work with video, so I don't have the slightest idea if any support SMP, but as long as it's been around, it seems like they would, since HTing has only been around for about a year, and I hear that quite a few of the programs support that.
