DTT 3500 and SB Live CT4760

Hi All:
I need you guys suggestions on this speaker DTT 3500 and SB Live CT 4760 in order to get AC-3 5.1 surround sound. I managed to have 5.1 surround sound from the speaker while using the optical cable when I was watching DTS Saving Private Bryan. But if I chose AC-3, I couldn't get the full 5.1 surround sound.
My specs are as below :
Abit KT-7 Raid
256 MB RAM
Sony 6x DVD-ROM
20GB maxtor
Voodoo2
Savage 4
HoonTech SoundTrack Digital I/O Board III add-on
SB Live!
DTT 3500
