DST 2007

For all of you who manage a network, or not...=)

Instead of pushing patches out for windows xp and 2003, can't i just use the TZUpdate.reg, refreshTZinfo.vbs and DST2007-W2K.cmd, files to update all machines on the network via GPO ?

There aren't repercussions if this were ran twice ? Also, can anyone add info to this basic script that checks to see if the timezone is already updated, so it doesn't need to run again ?

I guess t depends on the OS. WinXP and Win2003 have an update available via WSUS. Win2000 you will need to come up with something a little more exotic.

In the KB article, MS provides the necessary registry changes, vbs, and cmd file to push the changes for windows 2000 and all other OSes. They are not issuing Windows 2000 patches thru WSUS, but you can use this -- to my understanding.

i know www.inteliadmin.com has a gui patch with a silent install option, but requires admin rights to install.
