i'm gettin either a evolt 500 or sony alpha or canon xti this coming BF. what type of compact flash should i get? i read somewhere that i should be getting high speed read/write CF for digital cameras. but would it matter if i'm getting type I or type II CF? any input to what kinda camera should i get and what type of CF should i be getting?

I think type 2 is the one you want for expandability options. All of the CF microdrives I've seen require a type 2 slot.

i thought type I and type II were just the physical size, the dimensions of the card

type II are thicker than type I

Correct, type II is used for Microdrives and such, while Type I is flash. The type refers to the size of the card, not the speed.
