A relative that has a small business is thinking about getting DSL. She'll want to have a fax and a modem on the same line (modem set to not answer). Is there any reason this wouldn't work? Not having DSL myself, I don't know squat about it.
If so, it should work fine. The DSL is digital, & will stay completely separate from the analog portion of the line. If it would work without DSL, it will work with DSL.
she can do it on the same phone number, just not the same phone line, but don't worry, the dsl company should split the phone outlets, one for dsl, one for regular phone.
depends actually. if the DSL provider does not use g.lite, then a splitter does have to be installed. frankly, mine uses g.lite (BA lines, different ISP) and i use microfilters on the analog lines. my dialup is fine.
