Just (finally) got my dslinstalled a few days ago. It's Ameritechs' Speedpath 768/128. Been doing tests and reading stuff
over at dslreports.com.
First round showed my RWIN was too low so I used a reg patch to fix that. Everything seemed fine for a while. Sometimes their "speed tests" show one or both at @ 631/133 and sometimes
one or both are SLOWER than my 56k (?!) Their other "system analysis" test gave similar results and said "Healthy Setup" and at other times says something about packet loss, Possible Problem!
Two other problems I have are when I click a link or a reply button the connection details box for the "enternet 300" software
shows no activity, neither does the activity lite on the modem blink, it just sits there for @ half a min. before it does anything
SOMETIMES. And sometimes I get disconnected for inactivity !!!!,
how could that be if this as supposed to be an "always on" connection ?
System is PIII450, Win98se, Westell Wirespeed dsl modem, Kingston
NIC.
Any comments or suggestions appreciated, or leads/links to best
place to resolve this sh@t. I am Idiot & I hate playing with the
registry.
