hi, I have sign up a 3mb DSL bell Canada business line
and i have done some test in dslreports.com
here is what i got
436kbps down
651kbp upload
1st question: why is my upload faster then my download
2nd. what is the usual up and down kbp for 3mb service

If it is true 3 mbit service, 8 bits = 1 byte: Your download speed should show as 384 kbytes/s when you download something.

I have a 3 Mbps DSL service from another provider in Ontario and my scores were:

Test 1 - Megapath
Downstream : 928 Kbps
Upstream : 117 Kbps

Test 2 - Linkline
Downstream : 864 Kbps
Upstream : 127 Kbps

*realized I had something d/l in the background*

Test 1 - Megapath
Downstream : 923 Kbps
Upstream : 133 Kbps

Test 2 - Linkline
Downstream : 962 Kbps
Upstream : 134 Kbps

I've seen sustained downloads in the 1.5 - 1.6 Mbps range and sustained uploads
in the 300 - 400 Kbps range, so I don't think that site is all that reliable.

are you paying extra for 3mbps service? cuz if you are, and all you're getting is under 1.5Mbps.. id downgrade.. unless you require the nice upload speed you got.

That is a business line, so he will have to pay major bucks for it. BTW, I hope your business is very big, because 3Mbps bandwidth is a lot.

i was on 1megabit service for $79.95CDN
then they call me free upgrade for 6month. then add $10CDN per month for
so it's $89.99 CDN service for 3megabit service
i just purchase my own modem. so it's back to $79.99 per month for the 3megabit service
