DSL Routers/Switches -vs- Hubs

I have a question for the experts out there, here goes.

I recently got DSL service after switching from a sub par Cable connections. On the old Cable Connections, I used a NetGear EN104tp Ethernet Hub to connect all my roomie's PCs together. However, I know NetGear (and LinkSys and more, but I like NetGear so bare with me please :D) makes a DSL Router/Switch (Model: RT314) which would do the same thing.

My main question is, Why do I need the DSL Router? My DSL provider allows 3 computers to connect to the net at once (which is what I have) so does that mean I don't need the Router at all? Or would I see a speed increase or better data handling?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to figure out if I need to drop the $150 on the Router or what. Thanks again for any info in advance!

If your DSL will let you connect as many computers as you need to the internet, Then you have NO need for a router.

So is that the only reason to buy one? I mean, will I see any data managment improvement, or is it just wasted money? The more info the better, thanks!
