Well, its hard to say what exactly is wrong from the information you have given. I am not at all that familiar with HPNA systems, but I assume the opperate on the same principles as a standard ethernet network. That being said try the following:

1) break the problem down into seperate problems, first deal with the HPNA network, getting that configured so that all systems can see each other and communicate properly. Then worry about sharing the internet connection from the Win2K system.
2) re-check the settings on the HPNA adapters, making sure you have IP addresses specified for each system that are in the same subnet.

One issue you might have is the effect of a HPNA network running with a DSL network. If I am not mistaken, they both are fighting for the bandwidth over your existing phone lines. It might actually turn out that these two services may be incompatible with one another, but like I said I do not have any experience with HPNA networks. You might also need to worry about having filtered or un-filtered lines going into the computers. The line filters may in fact also be filtering out the HPNA network signals and you may need to not place them on the lines. But from what you are discribing, you have a partial signal going to one of the computers, so unless you have a filter on one system and not the other, this should not be the problem you are discribing (or it may very well be the problem).

The PPPoE adaptor was probably setup by the installation program that your DSL provider gave you. PPPoE is the now almost standard protocol that DSL uses (even though it makes no real sense to use in my opinion). Does your server have a internet connection that works? If so, bring up a command window (click start->run, type "cmd") and type "ipconfig", this will tell you all your current network settings. Find network device that has your internet IP address settings in it (several websites can tell you what your current IP address is, www.grc.com is one, it will tell you when you run their security scan on your system). Once you find your internet IP address and then match it with the addresses from the ipconfig, you will know what adapter is being used to give you your internet access. That is the adapter you want to share. If it turns out that the PPPoE adapter is not the one with your internet IP address, you might want to try removing it as it should not serve any purpose otherwise.

I really don't know what else to say other then that you have 2 real problems here and that they need to be solved seperately. Concentrate on getting the HPNA network fixed, you might want to try disconnecting the DSL modem and putting filters on all your phone lines, and if that doesn't work, try removeing all the filters from your phone lines. If possible, try disconnecting you phone line from the line feeding your house (not sure how your house is, but in mine the phone co. has a feed to a main box, and then we have a single line going into the house, which we branch off to multiple rooms, you might want to see if you can remove yourself from the external phone system to test the HPNA network without the DSL signal interfering with the HPNA network signal).

This is almost an Oxymoron:

HPNA home network NOT working

If u are Network+ / CCNA or have experienced
.

HPNA was contrived as a solution for home users that could not install additional wires (CAT5).

That was in a time when Wireless solution was unavailable, or very expensive. (It seems that HPNA is slowly dying).

Unfortunately, it is not compatible with Ethernet. Usually it needs expensive hardware to bridge the two.

2 Wires Home Portal.

Log here you will find most that is out there concerning HPNA.

Alternative Networking - Phoneline.
