DSL not working! What can I do?

I have a standard router set up..but all of a sudden this afternoon it stopped working..

I've tried turning off the modem, unplugging it and turning it back on, but still nothing. I've tried making a direct connection from my modem to my ethernet card, and connect through the PPPoe thing..but that still doesn't work. The DSL and Ethernet lights are on on the modem showing that it works. What else can I try?

maybe the ISP servers are down. Have you tried giving them a call?

turn off the modem, unplug the power and phone line for 10 minutes. Try again from modem to NIC

Hmm, apparently one of my friend's DSL isn't working either..so it must be the system or something. Anyone know how long it takes for these problems to resolve themselves?

How should we know?

Call your ISP an ask them.
