DSL / Networking question CAT + USB?

I am fed up with my damned NIC cards and want to throw in the towel after 200 reboots and annoying problems.

Q: Can I use a USB network b/t two computers and then use a NIC for the incoming DSL? Obviously wanting to use DSL on both comps.

Thanks.

You'd be best off using 10/100 PCI NICs for your LAN. A USB NIC maxes out at 12Mb/sec, fine for a DSL or cable connection, but could slow the LAN down.

You probably know this, but you can't plug in USB from one computer into the other. You'll fry the USB ports. You can get USB to ethernet adapters that you can use on each end of an ethernet cable. I agree with obenton, I would get 3 NICs total. What are your problems with the NICs?
