My friend got stuck with a usb dsl modem. I was wondering where I could find him a cheap dsl modem with an ethernet connectivity so a router could be used.

As a frame of reference:

These guys sell Entry level as well as Upscale Network equipment.

They have DSL modems ($150, and above), as well as other ?Hard to Find" stuff.

Their prices are not as good as the regular ?smorgasbord? Net retailers.

Prime Services Group.

I keep this URL for desperate times.

What is your ISP? If MSN their settings are installed on the modem and you must get a different one from them, or else some butt munch can use your account if your settings are put in the modem. Other ISPs only allow their hardware to connect... that way they can monitor and bill you more accurately. Look at the ISP contract... let us know what happens

Actually I disagree. If you want a real strong firewall and servers USB modems can do the function. You can ICS and really have control over who has access to your internet. It is bad if you want to share it, but other than that I think it has it advantages because the computer with it plugged in needs to be on all the time.
