DSL Modem Line question

I am a newbie. ... I have a question about running two modems from two different locations off the same DSL line. .. . Can it be done? I do not want to use a a wireless router. .... Any help is appreciated. ...

As far as I know, you can't run two dsl modems on one line.

I tried and it did not work on my SBC Yahoo DSL line.

You can't because DSL works in a particular frequency range that both modems would use (it can't be changed - but if you could, it would sacrifice bandwidth). It's like running two dial-up modems on one phone line.

Even if you could, bandwidth would be sacrificed. Better and easier to just network the two PC's and share the single modem.

If you don't want a wireless router, get a wired one. /me pulls bunch of hair out.

Welcome Marshal108 to AT Forums.

If you are concern about Wireless you can use HPNA, Powerline/HomePlug, or a long CAT5e cable.

I am not afraid of my Wireless; I immunize my Wireless against rabies, so if it will bite me I am secure.(j/k) :shocked:

However just in case you would like to try.
