DSL Modem issue

Hello all,

I am currently using DSL service thru DSLextreme and regular phone service thru AT&T. All rooms in my house have a phone line jack and the issue is the DSL modem only works on one jack that is located in a built-in office desk nook. All other jacks in the house, the modems DSL light repeatedly flashes on/off signifying no signal.

Ive tested all the jacks in the house with a regular phone and can hear the tone signal, so they do work for phone calls. What could be causing the modem not to work on all other jacks but one?

Thanks

Are you trying a second Modem while the working Modem is still connected?

It is also possible that the Modem Line is the only one Unfiltered while the other lines are centrally filtered.

Hello Jack

No I was trying out the only modem I have thruout the house on every jack.

Right now I have the modem plugged in straight into the wall with no filter dongle attached. I did try the filter dongle in the room I want the modem to be in and it was still not receiving a dsl signal.

The Filter is Not for the Modem, it is for telephones so that they will not mess up the DSL signal.

In many places there is one none filtered line for the DSL while the rest of the house's lines are filtered centrally in (or near) the NID.
