DSL is down, I am dying here!

With the shutdown of Northpoint, I have lost my DSL connection for at least a week before my ISP can reinstall me with a new provider.. My god, I can't believe people actually USE modems anymore.. I am getting a lightning fast 26,400 connection.. I can only get IDSL (144k), but thats still over 5 times faster than what I get with dialup, it seems like a T1 compared to this sluggish connection..

Please, pitty me.. I need some pitty.. PLEASE!
 
I am in the same boat bud, I was serviced by Northpoint as well.

We need to start a support group for those of us in withdrawls. 😀
 
If you're in California, I heard that they will reactive your connection b/c they are supposed to give you a 30 day notice, but did not do that. The PUC made them, but thats what I heard on the news radio.
 
reactivate them with what? The company is gone, chopped up, dissolved. AT&T owns the goodies now, sure california's regulators can sue, then go stand in line next to all the other people suing the dead entity called northpoint..its down and will stay down.
 
my ADSL is limited only by the telco's cap of 1.5mbps...and im working to get that "fixed" sorry your stuck with nothing, when my dsl's been down i know how sucky dialup can be
 
No pity for you!! I dealt with 24000bps connects for 6 years and I have no pity for you people who complain about 26400 connects. You elite pigs make me sick!! 😀
 
i had to use dialup for a month when my DSL ISP went down, took that long for SBC to cancel my line and reactive it with another ISP...my god it sucks so bad.
 
I recently had to go back to dailup 🙁 because of sucky telocity dsl and them always wanting me to pay when the %^*)(&*&* never worked.

Something has to be done!!!!!!!!!!
 
I've been waiting a month and a half for Verizon to figure out how to plug wire one into wire two, thus connecting me to my ISP....

...the wait continues.
 
Speak of the devil, my stupid cable modem must be going bad. Can only connect for about 3 minutes, after that I hafta release and renew IP to get it to work again. On DSL for now

Ok, maybe not...

I can't get anything other than dial up here (not even satelite).....so I'm stuck with this 53.2 connection till who knows when.....

I have hardly any problem with my DSL (with a baby bell) but it is limited to about 300k Upstream , so I have been toying with the idea of having a T1 run to the house and writing it off as a business expense. The joys of not having a board to answer to 🙂
